Join us for Art, Food, and Roots – the 7th annual fundraising event for Urban Roots, a nonprofit whose mission is to grow healthy minds, bodies and communities in northern Nevada by providing school and farm-based garden education for teachers, students, and families! Orchestrated by Chef Mark Estee, five chefs will each prepare their own distinct dish highlighting the locally-sourced harvest of the season. Paired with wines, the courses include:

Appetizer

Hole in One Ranch beef + Andelin Family Farm squash + Sand Hill Dairy queso fresco + Urban Roots’ produce

Chef Stefanie Teeter of Liberty Food & Wine Exchange, Reno

Vegetable Course

Lattin Farm carrots: slow roasted with local honey and Aleppo chile in a silan glaze + carrots soubise + pickled carrots + raw carrots + carrot chips + City Green Garden carrot tops + Peri & Sons Farms onions

Fish Course

Salmon mousse Ballantine + local crayfish broth + brunoise of butternut squash + butter-poached crayfish + chopped chives

Urban Roots pork + sweet potato gratin and braised red cabbage provided by Whole Foods Market + cracklins + jerk sauce

Honey-roasted Seckel Pear + lemon ricotta cake + sweet mascarpone using Estill Ranches eggs + thyme + butterscotch dust
